Why I Created Endovascular Insider

Good morning everyone,
and thank you for joining so many of you already in the very first week of this project, accepting the invitation to be part of it.
My name is Giovanni Solimeno, I am a vascular surgeon from Naples, Italy, and today I would like to explain why I decided to create Endovascular Insider.
For years, in my daily practice, I have felt that endovascular surgery still shows too many gaps:
- Didactic gaps, because many tips and tricks are not found in textbooks. Often you learn them by “stealing with your eyes” from more experienced colleagues, or only after making a mistake or facing a complication.
- Scientific gaps, because there are still gray areas in the literature, questions that remain unanswered.
- Technological gaps, because the devices we use every day are extraordinary, yet sometimes still imperfect or incomplete.
That is why I have always had the habit of writing everything down: a mistake, a complication, a technical detail. Sometimes a quick note on my iPhone is enough… although, I must admit, I also walk around with a small notebook and a pen in my pocket. Over the years I have accumulated dozens of them at home—much to the delight of my wife, who happens to be a cleaning fanatic.
From this came my method: observe → take notes → investigate → seek solutions.
👉 It is a method I have used for years, and it has never failed me: it has always allowed me to climb, even just one small step higher. Everyone must find their own method, but for me, this one has been decisive.
Endovascular Insider was created with exactly this spirit:
- to share reflections, notes, tips, and strategies that rarely find a place in traditional training;
- to stimulate a community of surgeons who want to go beyond the guidelines, into the abyss of the “unknown”;
- to open an editorial space that is exclusive yet accessible, where we can discuss technique, science, technology, and vision;
- and, why not, to also share what I have learned over the years in terms of personal branding, communication, and digital technologies, which have allowed me to grow on social platforms with results that, until a few years ago, I would never have expected. Content of this kind will appear occasionally, for those interested in developing their professional presence as well.
🩺 At the same time, I would like to mention that VasculHub, of which Endovascular Insider is part, represents a broader project. It is not aimed only at professionals, but also at the general population: a digital ecosystem designed to reduce the gaps in knowledge both horizontally (among colleagues and professionals) and vertically (between doctors and citizens).
On the public side, the project is developed in Italian and is active on social media (TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook), where it already counts tens of thousands of followers. Here too, the goal is to democratize cardiovascular knowledge and raise awareness about the prevention of vascular diseases—first and foremost atherosclerosis, the leading cause of death worldwide.
How will Endovascular Insider work?
- I will initially publish two pieces of content per month: reflections, extended tips & tricks, focused insights, and much more.
- In the coming months, new topics will be added.
- I hope this project will stimulate interest and discussion: if you have proposals or suggestions, feel free to write to me on LinkedIn or by email at vasculhub@gmail.com.
This is just the beginning.

Endovascular Insider is not meant to be just another newsletter: it is a shared editorial journey—an invitation to think and to grow together.
